There's a fairly good walkthrough of how to operate the Progress PET, so I'll stick with the basic info here.

Progress PET

This version of PET was never released in the States, unfortunately; it's a huge improvement over the "glorified pedometer" that is the Advanced PET. It came in three color schemes (Megaman blue, Protoman red, and Forte-Cross Mega black), but unlike the red Advanced PET, the red Progress PET actually features Protoman instead of ol' Mega. The PET allows Cross Fusion and Soul Unison, not only with the Battle Network 5 Navis but also the BN4 Navis, since the PET reads both Progress and Advanced chips. Advanced chips are a bit trickier to slot in, since they're slightly narrower, but a little practice will help. Of course, the Advanced PETs and Battle Chip Gate aren't forwards-compatible with the slightly wider and larger Progress chips, but at least the release of the Progress PET wasn't a huge Reset Button for collectors. Another new feature was the two expansion slots that allowed you to attach gear such as handgrips, screen magnifiers ("scopes"), and even an "operate stick" (a handgrip with a small joystick that covered the d-pad). Interestingly, these attachments also adjusted your Navi's stats, making them more than just aesthetic enhancements.

Progress Chip Gate

Like BN4, BN5 featured an Operation Battle mode, available off the Start menu only when the Progress Gate was attached. I haven't yet been able to determine whether or not Advanced chips work in this version, or whether the Progress Gate even works with the American games.

Available Navis

The short list of Advanced Navi chips (not the ones that only work with BN4.5, in other words) will work with the Progress PET (unsure about the Progress Gate yet). Also the 12 Soul Unison Navis from BN5. (List to come at a later date.)

E Bay is your friend lol... Seriously I saw a ton on there for like $20.00...

With eBay, though, you gotta make sure that you know where it's coming from and what the shipping cost will be. Those 20-dollar PETs can cost as much as 35 bucks if they're coming from Hong Kong, which a lot of them are.

Well yeah the usual shipping from Hong Kong is $10.00 or less...

I had to get my special edition for like 90.00 just to think that I was getting it erlier and it came two monts later. CURSE YOU TOYSNJOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
